McKinney Texas Top 8 Neighborhoods | Living in McKinney Texas
So you’re thinking about moving to McKinney, Texas? Well you should! I think McKinney is overlooked quite a bit when people are looking around the Dallas area, mostly because people typically think of Frisco and Plano instead. McKinney is right outside of Frisco and offers a lot of the same benefits, and the cost is much more affordable. It’s definitely a spot to consider if you’re moving to the area. Today, let’s talk about the top 8 neighborhoods in McKinney so that you can find the right fit for you!
TRINITY FALLS
There is a lot of new construction happening here in Trinity Falls. It’s also close to popular food spots like Chipotle, Chili’s IHOP, Olive Garden, and more. It’s a little more remote than some of the other McKinney neighborhoods, but it is close to the freeway and offers a lot of great new homes to choose from. It’s also only about 6 miles away from the downtown area of McKinney, so although it’s a little farther out than some of the neighborhoods here, it’s not too far of a drive.
TUCKER HILL
This is a super unique community. It’s also very close to the freeway, and it’s just at the intersection of Stonebridge and Virginia Park Parkway. There are some great food spots over here, and it’s close to a lot of the things you need on a day-to-day basis. This community is great because it’s very tight-knit, and it offers some cool historic homes, which ya’ll know I love! It’s a smaller community, but a lot of families especially love that feel. It’s known as a “front porch community,” in that almost everyone has a front porch, and people sit out and chat and interact on those from porches, so it’s very quaint and community-based here.
ISLESWORTH
Islesworth is a really nice community right smack dab in the middle of a golf course, so you know that the homes here are going to be nice, and the upkeep is great. There is such a beautiful atmosphere in this neighborhood, from the ponds and trees all the way up to the golf course itself. Stunning! It’s also very close to a lot of the major restaurants and grocery store chains that you’re used to, so with its convenience and beauty, it’s definitely up there in the top 8 neighborhoods.
ELLESWORTH
So Ellesworth is the situation about 6.5 miles west of the downtown area. It’s actually technically part of Ridge Ranch, but it’s a gated community, and it’s nestled between water both on the North and the South sides. There are lots of awesome single-family homes here that range from the high 800s to the upper million-dollar range. There’s a ton to do within the community itself – from the country club to the community pool – so you’ll really love this spot. Just beautiful!
CRAIG RANCH
Craig Ranch is a huge community right off the golf course. It’s close to the shops in town, restaurants, grocery stores – everything! It’s also very close to the tollway. It’s also a master-planned community, so you know it’s going to be absolutely immaculate. There’s about 12,000 residents here, and price ranges go all the way from $139,000 all the way to $2.5 million. It’s a great spot to check out, no matter what your budget is!
MALLARD LAKES
Again, this community is also really close to a lot of McKinney’s awesome amenities, but one of the best parts about Mallard Lakes is the parks that are nearby. There are a lot of great areas to enjoy the outdoors, and it’s just 4 miles west of historic downtown McKinney. It’s charming and award-winning as well. There are large homes and resort-like amenities here, so it’s just a great place to call home. The price ranges go from the mid $400’s to the low $700s.
ADRIATICA VILLAGE
This is such a cool, unique community! Is was built to look like a Croatian village, so the homes are adorned with lots of stone and wood features that just make the entire community look like a castle. Really cool! You won’t find anything like this in this area. It’s $350 million dollar development and it’s about 5.5 miles from historic downtown. It’s in a desirable area, and it’s just really neat to look at. All of the amenities you need are right inside the community as well, so if you’re looking for something in the mid $500s and up and you want something truly unique, Adriatica Village is a great pick.
STONEBRIDGE RANCH
Stonebridge is a gated community close to Adriatica Village and Ellesworth. It has a lot of the same amenities as those other communities, but one thing about these homes is that they are really spacious, and it’s very easy to access. It’s also on a golf course, and it’s extremely lavish and all-inclusive. They have a junior-olympic-sized swimming pool, too, and pretty much anything you need is right inside the community. They also have a good range of homes to choose from, ranging from $225,000 up to $2 million, so if your budget lies somewhere within that range, you’ll want to check it out!
SERENITY
Last but certainly not least is Serenity, and it really lives up to its name! It’s right smack dab in the middle of the Heard Nature Preserve, so everything surrounding it is just gorgeous, from the homes to the mature landscaping. It’s also bordered by the country club, which is amazing to see, and it’s close to some amazing food. The homes are large – ranging from 4000-6100 square feet, and prices range from the high $800,000 range and up.
So overall, Mckinney is definitely a spot you want to check out! You’ll have a much easier time securing a home here, and the prices are a lot better than a lot of the spots in Frisco. You share a lot of the amenities and conveniences of Frisco here as well, so it’s the perfect spot with a lot to offer.
